University of Plymouth’s Student Union
UPSU are there to support the well being of every student studying with the University of Plymouth, they aim to make sure you have a successful, fulfilling and rewarding time both at university and in the future.
Marjon Student Union
Marjon Student Union (MSU) has the students at its heart. Offering support, guidance and advice, MSU hosts societies, sports clubs, and regular events to enrich students’ experience both academically and socially. True to its ethos, the MSU is run by people elected by the students.
University of Plymouth’s Rugby Football Club
“We are the University of Plymouth Rugby Mens Club, we have 3 teams and around 100 members, we look forward to another year of sponsorship with Bryce Properties.”
University of Plymouth’s Lacrosse
Uplax is a mixed gendered club at the university of Plymouth. We have 2 ladies and 2 men’s teams, with our 2nd team focusing on development of players. The club is open to members of all skill levels, with the majority never having picked up a stick before joining. We’ve had many achievements in the past years with our men’s team being promoted to western 1A and wining their Nottingham 6’s league. Our ladies team remain undefeated against Marjon in our annual varsity match. UPLAX is a family away from home providing a mental and physical support system which has us regarded as the upsu club of the year 2024.
Univeristy of Plymouth’s Rowing Club
“UPRC is proud to have a squad of dedicated athletes, from complete beginners to potential GB athletes. We row at Dart Totnes where there’s a great team environment, encouraging individuals to improve fitness and wellbeing and to compete at a high level.”
University of Plymouth’s Dance Club
UPDC offers a range of classes: Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Heels. Recreational classes run weekly during term time, catering to both beginner and intermediate dancers. For more advanced dancers, we have our squads that compete in inter-university competitions.
University of Plymouth Swimming, Synchro & Water Polo Club
Our club offers member access to Competitive, Recreational, and Synchronised Swimming along with Water Polo, as well as a welcoming, friendly environment for anyone who wants to join. We welcome both students who’ve swum and played before, and those who are new to the sport. We compete in various competitions throughout the year including the British University Swim League (BUSL), BUCS, University Water Polo Leagues, Varsity and Synchro displays. Last year we achieved some amazing things like winning both of our Varsity events against Marjon, Qualifying for the final of BUSL, as well as both of our Water Polo teams placing 1st and 2nd in their league tables, and we hope to keep that up this year.
University of Plymouth’s Basketball Club
“We are the Plymouth Sharks, Plymouth University’s Basketball Club. We run 3 teams, with our 1st team playing in BUCS and our 2nd team playing in local league. The 3rd team is there to develop players with weekly training and occasional friendlies. The club is open to players of all levels to come and enjoy socials and training!”

“UPTC is a fast growing, friendly and competitive club, providing members with countless experiences and opportunities to meet friends for life. With both men’s and ladies BUCS teams, socials and chance to play the fast-growing padel tennis. Blitz
“Plymouth Blitz is a mix gendered American football team at the University of Plymouth. We compete in the BUCS Southwest Division 2 and we play at Stonehouse Creek in Devonport. We have many achievements that include being represented in the GB Women’s programme and having many of our alumni playing overseas in Europe.“
UPTTC
“Plymouth University Table Tennis Club offers a great way to play sport whilst allowing you to make friends in a relaxed sociable environment. We accommodate for all standards and commitment levels. Moreover, we compete in British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) Western Tier Table Tennis league as well as entering a squad annually into the BUCS Championships in Nottingham for those who wanted to play competitively. The club also organises social events for members throughout the year. Our club holds a weekly session on Monday at 8-10 pm in Nancy Astor Sports Centre Studio.”
